Sustainability Goes Viral! is a video competition designed to attract the most provocative, compelling, entertaining, and hilarious crowd-pulling short films around the topic of sustainability. We welcome a variety of styles and genres including: narrative (comedy, horror, drama & mockumentaries); music videos; animation and documentary. Videos must be 5 minutes or less and the 20 finalists will be screened at SXSW Eco in October. To learn all the rules and enter click here.

Lydia Dean Pilcher is an American film producer and founder of Cine Mosaic, one of New York's leading independent production companies. Cine Mosaic has forged relationships with a wide range of talent and business partners in the US, Europe, India, Turkey, Africa and the Middle East. Pilcher is a Founder and Chair of PGA Green, an active committee of the Producers Guild of America since 2006, dedicated to supporting sustainability in the entertainment industry, and winner of the 2011 EMA Green Production Award. Pilcher is also a member of The Climate Reality Project, founded and chaired by Al Gore, and has been a speaker and panelist at many public and film events including Berlin Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, and PGA’s Produced by Conference. She will be granting the Grand Jury Prize winner a meeting with her in person in NYC or LA, or via Skype.

A filmmaker and activist, Rachael Joy is passionate about great storytelling and the environment. As a producer of "It's Easy Being Green" for HGTV, Rachael shot with green luminaries such as Willie Nelson, John Cougar Mellencamp, Paul Newman, Daryl Hannah, and renowned chef Alice Waters. She's produced stories covering the Solar Decathlon, 40th anniversary of Earth Day, climate change, sustainable fashion, organic gardening and the BP oil spill. She’s been featured talent in the Environmental Defense Fund’s "Climate Change Campaign" video series and was host of Treehugger’s "Green Holiday Gift Guide" for PlanetGreen.com. She also founded EcoPop TV, an online series dedicated to green stories that are fun, inspiring and occasionally irreverent. Rachael is currently a Chair of PGA Green, the Producers Guild of America's green initiative and helps manage GreenProductionGuide.com, a green vendor database. She also is one of our Judges for the Grand Jury Prize.

Shiva Rose is an actress, writer and curator of the eco holistic life style web site The Local Rose (http://www.thelocalrose.com/). As an actress Shiva Rose has appeared on film, television and on stage. Some of her film and TV credits include David and Layla (Best Actress Award at The Florida Film Festival), CSI Miami, and Cold Case. As a writer she has written the play A Fragile Life (based on the life of Tina Modotti), Relative Insanity (a film to be produced in 2012), and various articles for magazines and websites including Vogue, Lucky, LA Confidential, Eco-Stiletto, Huffington Post, and more. Shiva is also an activist working with various groups such as Artists for peace, Violence Intervention Program, V-Day and anti GMO coalitions. She lives with her two daughters near the Santa Monica Mountains where they grow their own food and live a green life.
