It wouldn’t be SXSW without parties! Join SXSW Eco speakers, registrants and staff at the vast array of field trips, dinners and special events taking place throughout each day and night. Stop by the opening party to make new acquaintances and say hello to old friends. Treat yourself to new and exciting aspects of the Austin culinary scene by attending the annual Eco Welcome Dinner or join a Round Table Dinner to make new connections. Ping Pong Tournament

Join us on Monday, October 6th from 3:30-5:45pm for a ping pong tournament hosted by Zappos! Stake your claim as the 2014 SXSW Eco ping pong champion and compete for prizes and bragging rights – winners will be recognized at the SXSW Eco Awards on Tuesday night. If you're hardcore, feel free to bring your own paddle and shoes. Game on!

The Clorox Safe Water Project

Recharge, refill and rehydrate at our Twitter-powered water fountain (with free water bottles!) and learn about The Clorox Safe Water Project, which brings 400,000 liters of safe drinking water each day to Peru with the help of Clorox Bleach. While there, tweet with #safewaterproject to fill your bottle & trigger a $1 donation to the Project, up to $20,000, to expand its presence in Peru. The Registrant Lounge is open from 9am-6pm throughout the conference and located in Room 18BC.


Coffee Breaks

Coffee Breaks take place between programming and provide an excellent meeting space for registrants to network while discussing sessions and the newest ideas they've discovered during the event. Stay sharp during the conference with this essential energy boost.

Waste, Recycling (and Wildlife!) in Action - Field Trip

Presented by the National Waste & Recycling Association

National Waste and Recycling Association

The National Waste & Recycling Association invites SXSW Eco participants to lunch on a behind-the-scenes guided tour of Texas Disposal Systems – a unique complex and one of the state's largest waste and recycling operations – on Wednesday, October 8 from 10:30am-1:30pm.

Visit Texas' first fully integrated landfill and land reclamation project, watch the belts and scanners of a high-tech recycling facility in action and explore an exotic wildlife preserve, home to more than 2,000 animals of 100+ different species! Get an inside look at the organic composting facility, a browsing session at "Austin's best unadvertised garage sale" and a glimpse of artist-in-residence Chris Anderson's latest works.

Transportation and lunch are provided, and attendees will return in time for Wednesday's keynote session.


SXSW Eco Closing Party

Nat Geo WILD Join us Wednesday, October 8th for another wildly fun party brought to you by SXSW Eco and Nat Geo WILD. Close out the conference by meeting up with new friends and exploring all the exciting ideas and concepts discovered at SXSW Eco. Unwind and enjoy the evening at our annual wrap party!
