From dining in an organic farm's pecan grove to watching the sunset exodus of the world's largest urban bat colony, last year’s special events were wide-ranging and well-received. This year we are planning more excursions that will provide an unforgettable chance to meet fellow attendees during an experience that is wholly unique to Austin and SXSW Eco.
SXSW Eco Bookstore Signings

The Eco Bookstore (located at the Austin Convention Center) features a selection of current books and hosts daily signings by today's most relevant authors, designers and thought-provoking leaders. Speakers from the past year include Phillipe Cousteau Jr., Annie Leonard, Tamar Adler and Michael Moore. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to meet and greet this year’s speakers!

SXSW Eco is pleased to introduce a new addition to our 2013 program: The SXSW Eco Awards. In 2012 we hosted an awards ceremony to announce the winners of our Startup Showcase; in 2013 we are expanding this event to honor a diverse range of visionaries who are enacting positive change in their respective fields. Stay tuned for exciting developments as our season progresses.
